The path that skips the debt also skips the dorm, the dining hall, and the floor full of people their age. AMITA is that part, built for young adults starting careers instead of degrees.

  • They’re 18 to 24, often moving to a new city for the first time

  • A standard lease means a stranger for a roommate, or living alone

  • The friendships that used to come automatically now have to be built from nothing

  • Young adults who don’t build a life in a new city tend to leave it - the job, the program, the city itself

  • A furnished private room — move-in ready, utilities and WiFi included

  • Breakfast and dinner every day in a communal dining hall

  • An on-site residence team who know the people living in the building

  • A members-only community — admission requires enrollment in a registered apprenticeship or qualifying training program

  • Community that’s structured, not hoped for — clubs, rec sports, events, mentorship

AMITA isn’t an apartment building that anyone can rent in. It’s a membership community, and admission requires enrollment in a registered apprenticeship or a qualifying trade or training program. Everyone in the building has been admitted on that basis.

That means your child is living among people doing what they’re doing — starting a career, at the same age, in the same city. Not strangers from a listing.

Secure building access, on-site staff, and a residence team that knows the residents by name. Specific security features vary by property and are confirmed before any lease is signed.

Most apprentices earn $50,000 to $70,000+ a year from the first year. And the 529 you opened when they were young doesn’t go to waste as those funds can be used towards AMTIA.

So the money you set aside for their education still pays for where they live and eat. They just happen to be earning a salary at the same time.

One all-inclusive rate of around $2,430 a month covers the room, breakfast and dinner daily, utilities, WiFi, and every bit of the community programming.

How the 529 works here.

Since 2019, 529 funds can be used for registered apprenticeship programs, including room and board while enrolled. Eligible residents (those in registered apprenticeships or qualifying trade programs) can apply 529 funds toward their rent at AMITA.

  • Standard lease terms — 12, 18, or 24 months, with discounts for longer commitments

  • A parent or guardian guarantee is required, the same as most first leases

  • One monthly rate covers rent, meals, utilities, WiFi, and programming

  • Transfers between cities as their career moves, without starting over
